Sunnyside Neighborhood Energy

For this project I worked with the Neighborhood Natural Energy (N2E) organization and Sunnyside Neighborhood Energy to develop a conceptual plan to distribute heat and coolth to the neighborhood via water distributed in underground insulated pipes. This neighborhood-scale energy plant would be located at Sunnyside Environmental School in southeast Portland. The system involves thermal solar collectors, mass thermal storage, a biofuel boiler, and a large PV array to power water pumps and the school building itself.
